Joseph S. Joseph

Associate Professor of International Relations and European Affairs at the University of Cyprus. Holder of the Jean Monnet Chair in European Foreign and Security Policy. He received his Ph.D. from Miami University (USA), M.A. from the University of Stockholm (Sweden) and B.A. from Panteion University (Greece). He was a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard.

He has written extensively on the Cyprus problem, European integration and international politics. His books were published by Macmillan Press (UK), St. Martin's Press (USA), Papazissis (Greece) and Peter Lang (USA).

He contributed several chapters in books and published articles in international journals, including the Mediterranean Quarterly, Innovation: The European Journal of Social Sciences, and Security Dialogue. Among his publications are the book Cyprus: Ethnic Conflict and International Politics, from Independence to the Threshold of the European Union (London: Macmillan Press, 1997) and three special issues of the journal Hellenic Studies, co-edited with Stephanos Constantinides, on Transatlantic Relations and the Eastern Mediterranean (2004), Cyprus and the European Union (2003), and The Fifth EU Enlargement: Revisiting the Triangle of Cyprus, Greece and Turkey (2003).
