Summer School 2009
Euro-Mediterranean relationships: from the Barcelona Agenda to the Union for the Mediterranean
Istanbul, June 18-21, 2009
Organized in the framework of the Jean Monnet Programme in cooperation with the Istanbul Technical University - Faculty of Management)
The school has been organised by Prof. Franco Praussello, Director of the Economic and Financial Sciences department of the University of Genoa with the funding of the Jean Monnet Action of the European Union (141387-LLP-1-2008-1-IT – AJM – IC).
The summer school consisted of a series of high level seminars for young researchers coming from different areas of Europe and from Meda Countries. The project's aim was to contribute to the study of the European Integration process at national and international Level.
The submitted papers concerned mainly three groups of subjects:
- "The Union for the Mediterranean: experiences and prospects";
- "Integration & Trade with Islamic world";
- "Financial and Monetary cooperation";
Beside the University of Genoa other partners of the project are:
- Istanbul Technical University which had hosted the meeting,
- Cairo University,
- European Community Studies Association (ECSA), Slovenia,
- Sousse University,
- Panteion University,
- University of Cyprus and
- University Mohammed V - Agdal Rabat
All the contributions will be gathered up in a book (printed by Franco Angeli Editor) that will bring the title of the project.
